Wahe Guru

The most fabulous thing about this mantra is that when you do it, when you really focus on the sound you are making and the sonic field you are creating with your sound something amazing happens. Your thoughts stop and, as you continue, your mind will eventually empty. It is a very fast way to achieve stillness and peacefulness … and even, if you persevere, a state of thoughtlessness.

So why not give it a go?

Wahe Guru

Pronounced: Whaa Hay Gu Roo.

Whaa – lnfinity

Hay – The presence of the finite in infinity

Gu – Darkness

Ru – Light

Sit with your spine straight and place your hands in your lap palms up, with the right hand resting in the left. It does not matter whether or not the thumbs touch.

Wahe also means wow or ecstasy, a beautiful exclamation of the sheer joy of existence.

Guru also means the force that brings you out of the darkness into the light. It transforms dark into light, and we could all use a bit of that at the moment.

Lastly, the word guru is a familiar one. It describes someone who is a master, a person who is wise and compassionate and spiritual, and the vibration created when you use the word awakens this in you because it is contained within the vibration of the word. And as you say it or chant it, the energy you create will connect you to the wise teacher inside you, which is, of course, massively beneficial to you. Some consider the guru to be the higher self or the soul, but it does not matter what definition you use – it is still the most fabulous part of you!!

And another way of looking at what the mantra means is to think of the words Wahe Guru as a way of expressing the wonderful feeling you have when you make a true and profound connection with your soul, your true essence, your authentic self.  And as you chant them the vibration holds all this, making it easier to come into resonance with this wonderful part of you. Some people even say it will trigger your destiny!

The mantra will also:

  • Give you the experience of infinity
  • Connect you with the energy of the Divine – whatever you perceive it to be
  • Allows you to see the Divine in everything on the earthplane
  • Allow you to lose your sense of self and become one – it connects you to unity consciousness
  • Allows you to express the indescribable experience of going from darkness to light or if you look at it another way – from ignorance to true understanding

You can repeat the mantra silently or chant it out loud, but your focus for the sound, the place where you want it to go when you make it, is between your eyebrows and the brow chakra. And you begin with three minutes and gradually increase to eleven minutes.

And, as if all of the above isn’t enough… the mantra can also be used to dissolve anger and alter your emotional state to a more positive one. When you chant it and your tongue hits your upper palate, it stimulates the meridian point connected to the thalamus, so it will calm you down.

If you are not comfortable making sound on your own and you want to chant with someone, I recommend a youtube version of the mantra by Mantra Girl (who is astonishing). The page reference is:

May the sound you make bless you!

Solstice Crystal Meditation

Summer Solstice is the day the sun is at the height of its power and the fire element is easily available. To harness this, one of the best ways is to sit with a crystal that is associated with the fire element.

It doesn’t really matter which one you use.  Any of them will work and all of them are fabulous! And, if you have more than one in your collection, lay them all out and see which one your eyes are drawn to. that will always be the one you need to use. If you want a recommendation, though, my favourite is carnelian.

  • Fire agate
  • Carnellian
  • Peridot
  • Citrine
  • Red garnet
  • Fire opal
  • Ruby
  • Sunstone

I usually just sit with the crystal and see where the energy of the stone takes me. but if you have a specific thing you want to use the fire element to help you transform, set a very clear intention, and see where you go when you journey with your stone.

One last thing – if you feel a little unsettled by the intensity of the Solstice this year, don’t worry. You can use a sunstone and a moonstone to balance yourself. Just hold the sunstone in your dominant hand and the moonstone in your non-dominant hand and intend to let the crystals work to re-balance after the enormous influx of powerful energies.

Or, if you prefer, use a grounding stone between your feet to encourage the excess energy to move out of your body and into the ground through your feet. Any one you are drawn to will do.

Another stone you can use to help if you feel you have a lot of excess energy is hematite because it regulates your energy. If you place one stone under each foot, if you have too much energy, it will pull it out and send it safely into the ground, and if you don’t have enough for some reason, it will draw earth energy up into your system to re-balance you.

All you have to do is hold a clear intention when you use the stone and ask it to do what ever is needed to bring your energy back to what ever is normal for you! It’s always different with everyone!

Have a blessed day tomorrow.

Moonstone and Solstice

As we are fast approaching Summer Solstice, it is time to give some thought what you want and where you want to be after the big shift on 21st June.

One of the best ways to do this is to spend some time meditating with moonstone. Not only is it a stone of new beginnings, like all crystals, it does all sorts of other things which will be particularly helpful as the wheel of the year turns at this high point.

A moonstone is a reflection of the person who uses it, showing them what IS. It shows you … you. Not what you can be, might be… or what you want to be. It just reflects you back to you, so you can take a good long look and decide what you need to do next.

It also brings flashes of insight, which is always incredibly useful if you are going through an energetic shift.

And it brings spiritual support to sustain you through any changes that occur. Or changes that you know you need to make in your life as you move forward.

But the most important thing is when you sit and meditate with moonstone, it will show you the difference between what you want and what you actually need.

So all in all, at this time of year, moonstone is the perfect partner to co-create your next step as we move forward after the Solstice.

One of the other things moonstone does it is bring emotional balance when you use it, so this helps enormously when you want to take a good long look at your life. You can do it in the right emotional space and, if you place your moonstone on your heart and your brow, this will enhance the balancing process. It will also link your heart and your mind, allowing them to work together rather than separately. Or worse still fighting against each other.

One last thing – while you are sitting with your moonstone, if you discover any negative emotional patterns are stuck in either the sacral chakra or the solar plexus chakra, place your stone on these chakras (one at a time) with a clear intention that you want this energy to be dissolved by the energy in your crystal. All you have to do is sit quietly while this happens.

I hope this helps and you find the perfect energetic space to inhabit after the Summer Solstice.

Bright Blessings!
