As Samhain approaches, thoughts always turn to the ancestors. 31st October is the day when the veil between the worlds thins, so it is the perfect time to connect with them and working with Bloodstone will enhance anything you want to do… at any time because you don’t have to do it on 31st October! The ancestors are always there and always with you.
Bloodstone: Using Bloodstone is one of the best ways to tap into your bloodline. This is because the stone resonates with the heart and is used to treat cardiovascular problems. So, it is specifically related to blood, and through this it has a powerful link to your ancestral lineage. At a cellular level, there are things running through the blood your veins that was also in the blood that ran through their veins, so it is a direct physical connection to them.
Bloodstone also has a tremendous ability to ground you fully in the physical body, making sure you are really in the here and now, and this is the very best way to work with any ancestors that come while you are meditating with the stone. You have to be fully present while you are working to connect with them in any meaningful way.
Also, since Bloodstone is an excellent stone for healing emotional wounds and stabilizing emotional energy, you can use it on yourself with the intention of clearing this kind of energy from you and, through you, your entire ancestral line.
Lastly, Bloodstone can also help bring ancient memories to the surface of your mind and initiate a connection to your ancestors that way. The ancestors often speak through dreams and visions, but to fully appreciate and understand this form of communication, it will always be beneficial to use a crystal to clear your brow chakra first. I would recommend either Amethyst or Labradorite. Then the work you do with Bloodstone will be far more useful, not to mention effective.
Petrified Wood: This is another good stone to use to connect with your ancestors and their wisdom, and if you place it on an ancestor altar, it can be used to represent a family line. Also, if you hold it while you meditate, using it this way will strengthen your connection to your lineage.
Chrysanthemum Stone: This connects you with your family tree, accessing all the knowledge held within it, and it also awakens your spiritual abilities, especially if they are abilities anyone else in your family line has also manifested. Also, working with this stone during an ancestral healing session will, if used with the correct intention, clear any negative ancestral patterns that need removing from your Four Body System
Another way of using stones to initiate a connection to your ancestors if you have people from different countries in your lineage, is to get a stone that is from the place they come from and using it will immediately connect you with that place and time and, of course, them.
Also, since most people have worn crystals over the years, if you have jewelry that has been handed down in your family which contains a gemstone, you can use that to form a connection. It will have a strong affinity to the person who used to wear it. It can easily become your link to them during your meditations.
