I like simple exercises, especially ones that give you a quick and tangible result. And this easy sound exercise ticks both boxes. Not only does making the sound take you to a different vibrational level, the breathing technique also does many beneficial things for your body.
It releases stress, helping to make you calmer and more relaxed, detoxifies the blood and body tissues, as well as boosting your immune system.
And when practiced regularly it will also raise your energy levels.
So what is not to like about all that?
But please remember that doing it once won’t bring you all these fabulous benefits immediately. The exercise does need to be repeated.
And when you breathe, don’t just use your intercostal muscles, and inflate the upper part of your lungs. Make sure you move your belly, expanding it as much as you can and, always make your out breath longer than your in breath too.
It all helps, and your body will love you for it!
So here is the exercise:
- Place your hands on your knees, palms up.
- Set your intention for your sound. A good one is that you are making this sound to bless your body in every way, but you don’t have to use it. You need to find one that really resonates for you.
- Take your awareness to your breath and begin to breathe in and out through your mouth, slowly and easily.
- After a few breaths, make the HAA sound (elongating the AH) and hold it for as long as you feel comfortable without straining yourself in any way.
- Repeat until you feel it is time to stop.
And you will always feel better every single time you do this.
Bright Blessings!
